Kaiser Permanente Does Not Live Up to its Promise 

I had the following exchange with a Kaiser operator my 2nd to the last week with the organization:

"Hello, Kaiser Koolau"

"Yes, could you please put me through to my doctor's voicemail?"

"Hello! This is the nurses station."

"Sorry." Hanging up, dialing again.

"Hello, Kaiser Koolau"

"Yes, I just asked for my doctor's voicemail and you put me through to the nurse's station."

"He doesn't have one."

"Now I know that's not true!"

"Oh, well I'm not supposed to put you through."

The Kaiser Permanente system simply does not live up to its advertising claims of physician directed healthcare. We plan to illustrate this by providing a forum for Kaiser patients to go to for support and assistance. Welcome and mahalo! -The KPH Web Team 5/09/03
